Mixtape wins Best Film at the Landcrab Festival!!!

On saturday night Mixtape claimed the top gong at the Landcrab Film Festival on Bournemouth Pier!! It was a fun night with some hilarious films and great company, this festival has to be the most chilled out, relaxed event and just goes for all out hi jinks. I will make it there every year in future…

There were some filmmakers in attendance that showed great promise, amongst them were a group in their mid to late teens that shocked me with their short, ‘Invasion’. Harnessing visual effects virtually on par with Weta Workshop their film was amazing to look at, alien ships, explosions, flame effects, compositing; Cameron and Jackson better watch their backs…

Aside from all that, we also won best supporting actor for Kate Mile’s performance in Mixtape. Thoroughly deserved!

I’ll leave you with these parting photos of me with the festival organisers and director Dan.

Me with the coveted Palm Door. It's a door...in the shape of a hand.

    Dear Luke,
My friend Claire almost choked on her popcorn when she went to see Robin Hood and saw Mixtape before it. I’ve also now seen it but, given the warning, ensured I had an empty mouth. It’s a lovely film but what made us both blink in amazement is that we lived there from 2000 to 2008 – and you’ve used our two bedrooms too! Interesting to see that the damp patch above the chimney breast in the boy’s room (which was Claire’s) is still there -as is the old lamp shade that was an unloved birthday present. And I see that the hideous curtains in my room (the girl’s room) are still there too. It was a great party house. Your little film was waaaaaaaaaay better than the blockbuster that followed it by-the-way. The Carminia Road Effect!
    Best wishes, James
